Every interaction in Supermarket Chaos revolves around items and price tags. The game contains 4,668 product placements — each requiring you to match a physical item to its designated shelf tag. Understanding identification, matching rules, and common mistakes accelerates your entire playthrough.
Reading Product Names
When you pick up an item, its name displays on screen. This text string is your matching key. "Green Tea Lemon" is different from "Green Tea Classic." Read the full name every time, especially in tea, wine, books, and canned goods where names differ subtly.
Understanding Price Tags
Price tags line shelf edges throughout every section. Each tag names exactly one product that belongs in that slot. Walk the aisle scanning tags until you find the match. Search highlighting skills make matching tags glow when you carry the correct product.
Common Matching Mistakes
Placing by color instead of name — especially in wine and snacks. Trusting product images over text — critical for seafood section swaps. Following wrong overhead signage in homegoods. Trying bugged wine top-row slots instead of lower rows.
Item Categories by Section
Items belong to one of sixteen sections. Product type hints at section: refrigerated items go to cold zones, bottles to wine or beverages, boxes to dry goods. When unsure, consult the sections directory or find sections guide.
Throwing vs Placing
Normal placement uses the interact button gently. Throwing — rapid interact for distance placement — enables the Do Not Throw achievement. Both methods count toward the 4,668 total when the item lands on the correct tag.
Tools and Tracking
Use the Progress Tracker to count placements toward milestones. Cross-reference achievements for count-based unlocks. For section-specific product examples, visit individual section guides.
